![]() Hello, After tried a few times, I finally successfuly installed XenApp Fundamentals 6.0 evaluation version on a virtual machine which has Windows Server 2008 R2 installed. Before installing XenApp Fundamentals,.NET 3.5.1 is enabled and remote desktop services are installed. Then I click 'Quick Start' to start setting up the Licensing. After clicking 'Install Citrix Licenses', select the license file, click 'Finish', an error message coming up, 'Analyzing license file failed: No new licenses were found. The license file may be invalid or expired. Contact your vendor for support'. The Citrix Simple License Service enables you to allocate and install license files on a license server using a web page interface. This allows you to not have to go on MyCitrix.com to allocate your licenses. Internet access is required to gather information from Citrix website. I called citrix technical support for help with licensing problem, technical support tried to install and uninstall different version of license server on the virtual machine, even tried to download another valid license file, but still the license file can not be installed at all! Anyone can help? What I don't understand is, license server is just a component of XenApp, it only needs to validate the license file if it is valid. Why it just simply won't work as expected? Thanks in advance. Hello, I know the hostname is sensitive, I did allocate the license file with the correct hostname. I am using a virtual machine for installing the XenApp Fundamentals, each virtual machine has a different hostname. I tried to install a few times using different virtual machines, each time the virtual machine will have a different hostname. At the 4th try, the XenApp Fundamentals can be installed. Then I started to download a new license file using the hostname which finally has XenApp Fundamentals installed. But license server in Quick Start refused to install the license file though it has valid date time. Thanks for your remind. I looked into Program Files(x86) Citrix Licensing LS Logs CITRIX.log file, in the log file it says 'SERVER line says HOSTNAME=WIN-VMRH70766CK, hostid is HOSTNAME=WIN-VMRH7o766CK, Invalid hostid on SERVER line.' Just realize, 'WIN-VMRH70766CK' and 'WIN-VMRH7o766CK' is different, it has to be character 'O' not number '0'. I modified *.lic file with correct hostname, installation still failed. In the log file, it complaines 'Invalid license key'. I guess I may have to download a new license file and see if it works. To be honest, your answer really helps a lot! July 23, 2018 Note Studio and Director do not support Citrix License Server VPX. For more information about Citrix License Server VPX, see the Citrix Licensing documentation. From Studio, you can manage and track licensing, if the license server is in the same domain as Studio or in a trusted domain. For information about other licensing tasks, see the and. You must be a full license administrator to complete the tasks described below, except for viewing license information. To view license information in Studio, an administrator must have at least the Read Licensing Delegated Administration permission; the built-in Full Administrator and Read-Only Administrator roles have that permission. The following table lists the supported editions and license models: Products Editions License models XenApp Platinum, Enterprise, Advanced Concurrent XenDesktop Platinum, Enterprise, App, VDI User/Device, Concurrent To view license information, select Configuration > Licensing in the Studio navigation pane. A summary of license usage and settings for the Site is displayed with a list of all the licenses currently installed on the specified license server. To download a license from Citrix: • Select Configuration > Licensing in the Studio navigation pane. • Select Allocate Licenses in the Actions pane. • Type the License Access Code, which is supplied in an email from Citrix. • Select a product and click Allocate Licenses. All the licenses available for that product are allocated and downloaded.
